Safeguarding

Safeguarding overarches everything we do at Paradise Found Nursery. In all aspects of our work, safeguarding is at the forefront of our minds. Our staff maintain a culture of vigilance to protect children in our setting from abuse.

“Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met, and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them”
We work to promote the well-being and safety of all of our children. It includes having strict policies and procedures for vetting and recruitment of suitable staff, completing and maintaining records about medication, daily dynamic risk assessments and completing and maintaining appropriate records regarding accidents.

All staff at Paradise found Nursery have an enhanced DBS check.

‘Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure, when their individual needs are met, and when they have positive relationships with the adults caring for them‘.

At Paradise Found, we aim to create an oasis of safety, calm and compassion by;

  • Having two designated safeguarding leads to oversee safeguarding
    at the setting.
  • Maintaining a culture of vigilance.
  • Ensuring all staff have at least basic safeguarding training.
  • Making safeguarding a priority at regular staff meetings.
  • Making sure all staff, visitors and families at our nursery know who to speak to if they have concerns.
  • Keeping our continuing professional development up to date.
  • Making sure all staff have read current legislation, including keeping Children Safe in Education
  • Making sure all staff have completed PREVENT training online, inorder to safeguard vulnerable people from being radicalised.
  • Noticing things, and appropriately recording anything of concern.

Our aim is to work with our families to support them where needed, including offering advice, guidance and support.
